(Source: mobygeek.com)

Top Apple Stock News: the 6G news began with Apple placing a job posting for research engineers working on the next generation of high-speed mobile data. Industry researchers expect 6G to arrive by about 2030, but there is evidence that Apple wants to get involved in the very early stages of new technology development.

There are currently no agreed 6G standards yet. According to Samsung, the International Telecommunication Union will begin defining the 6G concept in 2021, with large-scale rollouts occurring around 2030. Therefore, Apple’s 6G work announcement will be long-term, spanning decades. The standards and timeline for 6G are still vaguely defined, but some analysts say the technology can deliver speeds over 100 times faster than 5G.

6G could be an even bigger business than 5G. More than $1 billion has already been invested in 6G, according to IDTechEx. Unsurprisingly, Apple is keen on this, and the announcement of vacancies is another signal of Apple’s commitment to leading the way in proprietary technology.

Apple is seeking to participate in a new scheme to increase exports of computer products from India, part of what government and industry sources say are plans to bring iPad production to that South Asian country. The new performance-related incentive (PLI) scheme, which offers manufacturers refunds for exports, will have a budget of up to $964.5 million over five years, the source said. Apple is lobbying for an enormous budget spending of Rs 20,000 crore before this plan is finalized, as India does not yet have the scale or supply chain to manufacture IT products and competes with duty-free imports of technology products.

India has emerged as one of the company’s key growth drivers as Apple’s market share in India rose from 2% in December 2019 to 4% in the quarter ending December 2020. The Rest of the Asia Pacific category, which includes India, saw $7.3 billion in sales in Q1 2021, up from just under $7 billion a year earlier. Apple sees India as a manufacturing hub and is reducing its reliance on China for its iPhone, iPad, and Mac product lines.
